When the Righteous becomes the Prey…!
We are living in a generation when the truth seems to have failed. A generation when a so-called Pastor who had just blasted out in tongues opened his mouth afterwards and began with clear blatant lies that even the Devil, I could imagine, must have shivered in a total disbelief. This was not reported to me; I witnessed how the man of God began to deny what he did in our very presence! I was completely taken aback. Illusion hits me in that very moment as a reality of its own. It was moment that illusion became a reality and the reality became an illusion. Sincerely, to be candid with you, I seem to have lost my faith in these men of God!
I was in a total disbelief, for the man would not blink nor would he reflect once, even as he was calling on God to destroy his imaginary enemies… I wept… Yes, I wept because it is indeed the time spoken of by Isaiah, that season that the righteous unfortunately becomes a Prey… And, it is saddening, that is just the truth… Truth indeed fails …
In Isaiah 59:14-15, we read: And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. 15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment. [KJV].
The Message says:
14 Justice is beaten back, Righteousness is banished to the sidelines, Truth staggers down the street, Honesty is no where to be found, 15 Good is missing in action. Anyone renouncing evil is beaten and robbed. God looked and saw evil looming on the horizon – so much evil and no sign of Justice [MSG].
In fact, verse 16 of The Message says God could not believe what He saw:
‘He couldn’t believe what he saw: not a soul around to correct this awful situation. So he did it himself, took on the work of Salvation, fueled by his own Righteousness! [MSG].
The Bible says it clearly, when you try to stand for the truth you make yourself a prey to the evil men… and, the problem is: as a true child of God, you have to stand for the truth…
You have to become a prey! For, standing for the truth means you are electing, knowingly, to make yourself a prey…
To make the burden on my heart heavier, the Bible says the Lord himself could not believe it… So, how could I have imagined that the same man who was everywhere blowing in tongues would shamelessly deny his own actions before our own very eyes, all in the name of the Lord? How …
I gave up him …
My pain is not really about myself again. I know I have always been a prey for insisting on the truth. My pain is about my children, both biological and of the faith of Christ… How would I tell them that in accepting the way of the truth, against the lies of the merchants on the altar of Christ who are promising them heaven on the earth, they would actually become such as preys to the predators of this world? How would convince them it is only in being or becoming the prey that they would find true salvation in Christ? How?
How would I be able to encourage them to accept being a prey for the truth than to seek the life of the predators with the evil of this world… for mark it, the Bible says the Lord sees it and makes a decision to save, to deliver, the preys off the evil men’s schemes…
Isaiah 59: 15-16 Good is missing in action. Anyone renouncing evil is beaten and robbed. God looked and saw evil looming on the horizon – so much evil and no sign of Justice 16 He couldn’t believe what he saw: not a soul around to correct this awful situation. So he did it himself, took on the work of Salvation, fueled by his own Righteousness [MSG]
The hope we have is that the saw the evil and brought salvation by himself!
‘… So he did it himself, took on the work of Salvation, fueled by his own Righteousness’ [MSG].
This is the only hope I am holding unto even as I have vowed to remain that adamant prey of truth to the very end… I rest in the conviction that:
‘For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth’ [2 Cor 13: 8, KJV].
As the Lord lives, His truth will prevail…
What I have seen in these few years tells me that when the righteous becomes the prey, the Lord shows up with his salvation plans for him…
Fear not…
