The six hours Jesus spent hanging on the Cross point us to seven prophetic statements for personal and corporate renewal.

1. “Father, forgive them…” (Luke 23:34)

Jesus chose forgiveness.  This does not begin with judgment, but with mercy. Those who nailed Him did not ask for forgiveness, yet He gave them. This is the nature of divine love.

If Jesus could forgive in that moment, nothing you face today is beyond forgiveness.

Prayer: Father, give me the Grace to forgive and mercy triumph over judgment in my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen 🙏🏽

2. “Today you will be with me in paradise.” (Luke 23:43)

A dying thief received eternal life in his final moments. This shows that salvation is by grace, not by works or history. One encounter with Jesus can change your eternity.

It is not too late; God’s mercy is still speaking for you today

Prayer: Lord, remember me for good in every area of my life. Let Your salvation locates me and restore all that I have lost in Jesus’ name. Amen 🙏🏽

3. “Woman, behold your son…” (John 19:26–27)

Even in agony, Jesus cared for His mother. The cross teaches us that love is not seasonal; it is sacrificial and intentional. Let Your spirituality reflects in how you care for others.

Prayer: Father, heal my relationships and connect me to the right people for my destiny in Jesus’ name. Amen 🙏🏽

4. “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46)

Jesus bore the weight of sin and experienced separation so that we would never be separated from God. His cry was real; but so was His trust. Even when you are in a situation that you do not feel God, know for sure that He has not left you.

Prayer: Lord, in every season of silence, let me remain reassured of Your presence, and remain confident that You never abandon Your own in Jesus’ name. Amen 🙏🏽

5. “I thirst.” (John 19:28)

Jesus, the Living Water, experienced thirst. He entered fully into human suffering so He that He could fully redeem us from every suffering. Jesus’ thirst is for the Souls of man. And this calls us to a deeper spiritual hunger for evangelism. What are you thirsting for temporary things or eternal life?

Prayer: Lord, ignite in me a fresh hunger for You. Let every dryness in my life be turned into overflow in Jesus’ name. Amen 🙏🏽

6. “It is finished.” (John 19:30)

This was not a cry of defeat, but a declaration of victory. The work of redemption was completed; sin paid for, access to God restored, and victory secured. Hallelujah!!! We must Stop fighting the battles that Jesus has already won.

Prayer: By the finished work of Christ, I declare: every struggle in my life is over! I walk in victory in Jesus’ name. Amen 🙏🏽

7. “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” (Luke 23:46)

Jesus ends with surrender. After the pain, after the sacrifice, comes trust. The cross teaches us that true power is found in total surrender to God. Your life is safest in God’s hands.

Prayer: Father, I surrender my life completely to You. Lead me, guide me, and establish my steps in Jesus’ name. Amen 🙏🏽
